LOCAL
ROOTS
PROUD TO BE
LOCALLY OWNED!
South Block's journey began with a mission to unite the local community through good vibes and awesome food. The founder, Amir, grew up in McLean, VA, where his parents owned local video stores, fostering his deep appreciation for community connections.
After noticing a lack of fresh juice and smoothie options in the DMV, Amir opened his first juice bar, Campus Fresh, in 2006 at George Washington University. Over five years, he honed his craft, built meaningful connections, and supported the GWU community through student fundraisers.
In 2011, Amir launched the first South Block in Clarendon, VA, on the "South Block" side of town—a modest 700-square-foot space. Guided by the belief that small acts of kindness could create significant impacts, Amir and his team immersed themselves in the community, supporting local businesses and schools.
What began as a small juice shop grew through hard work, dedication, and spreading good vibes. With lines out the door and buzzing neighborhoods, South Block became a beloved staple, expanding its mission to other "blocks" and continuing to share its positive energy and fresh, delicious offerings one block at a time.
